This is one of my favorite smaller pillows. The framed image on the front of it reminds me of a spring day in Paris. The different textures of the fabrics combine to give it a shabby chic feel but still allowing it at the same time to be elegant.
I paired it with two other unique pillows in colors of black, yellow, and deep raspberry. Notice too how this grouping has a play on shapes. Each pillow has, in some small way, a square, round, or rectangle detail.
This detailed photo gives you a better view of the textures the different fabrics in this piece have. The brown outer pieces and the middle golden yellow piece are a little more rough in texture but when paired with the golden yellow damask pattern they take on a softer, elegant, unexpected feel. Fraying the edges of the center piece allowed it to pop off the pillow and created a perfect backdrop for the organza ribbon and framed picture.
Shown on a small settee.
